An Unrivalled Destination

Welcome to the Real South of France

With its sun-soaked beaches, 13th-century châteaux and almost three times as many vineyards as Bordeaux, the historical Languedoc-Roussillon region, now part of Occitanie, displays a discreet charm that the neighbouring Provence and Côte d’Azur lost long ago. Take the road less travelled, where the local culture and rhythm of life have been largely preserved, and prepare to fall in love with the real south of France.

Celebrate Life

Discover vineyards and explore ancient castles, forage for truffles, float on the Canal du Midi, sail the Med in a catamaran or ski the Pyrenees. Sip on sundowners at the chic beach clubs dotted along the coast or adopt the locals’ pace and savour a late dinner of the freshest local fare. Surrounded by those closest to you – the world is your oyster.

Marseillan

Just a short stroll from Port Marseillan lies the charming town of Marseillan, complete with a picturesque 17th-century port and bustling market, reminiscent of the early Riviera. Lined with thriving restaurants plating up seasonal delicacies from the nearby lagoon, this village is quietly serving world-class fare, but content not to make a fuss of its riches.

Within 30 Minutes

Charming towns and villages punctuate the surrounding landscape of rolling vines, with some of France’s finest seafood to be found in those surrounding the Thau lagoon. Early risers should head to Sète, where you can buy fish straight from the boats, whilst night owls can dance the night away at the street parties of the Béziers Feria.

Carcassonne

Within an Hour

Slightly further afield, Montpellier lies less than an hour from Port Marseillan, a historic city full of chic boutiques and restaurants, and named France’s ‘favourite city to live’. Alternatively, follow the Canal du Midi from the coast inland to Carcassonne, home to the world-famous medieval citadel, and straight out of the pages of a fairytale.

Well Connected

The nearest airport, Béziers-Cap d’Agde, is only 20 minutes away, whilst five international airports are within an hour’s drive of the resort. Paris can be reached by high-speed TGV in 4 hours, and Barcelona is just two hours away.
